So Chill, Bro!

Ladies, gentleman, children of all ages!!! This Fernando "Emit" Garcia with a new edition of "Emit's Blog". It's been a while since my last entry. The last time I wrote dealt with my first week here in Irvine. Now it's been about a month since I've arrived and I've experienced a couple of new thingss. Let's dig into it...

The people I've met here are pretty cool, or "chill" and "legit." No one is near being close to being a real friend, as it's only been a couple of weeks, but there are plenty of fellas and ladies that are real nice and show nothing but love. There are people for me to eat with, play Super Smash Bros. Melee with, or just relax. On a side note, I'm also broadening my tastes in music to what everyone listens to hear, which is a little bit of everything. It wasn't like the first week where I felt the need to go home, as I really didn't know anyone here. But now I can hang out with the friends Andy, Arash, Nima, Amy, and several others. That's what happens when you live in the multicultural hall. JARDIN!!! But let's not forget that there are a couple of familiar faces here in Irvine. Trinh resides over in Middle Earth and I go visit her every now and then. She's so fun to hang out with. Then there is also Michael and Qi, both I found a few weeks ago at Mesa Commons. It was about time too!!! With all new and old friends here, I still miss a few people from high school. Whether they go to Berkeley, Merced, Santa Cruz, or wherever, I miss every single one of them, albeit I haven't told them (because I'm a man). I look forward to seeing most of them during Thanksgiving break.

There have been a lot of things to keep me busy here. Other than classes, I've also joined some clubs, one being M.E.Ch.A. It's the only place where I get to hang out with many fellow latinos and latinas, so I like it. I'vegone to a bonfire with Jardin a few weeks ago, which was one cool outing. I got to meet other people in my hall that don't really come up to the 2nd floor. Last week, the hall also arranged an outing to Knott's Halloween Haunt. Good times. I even ran into some of my friends from Lincoln that attend UCSD. Due to the numerous fires that ravaged my beautiful southern California, their school cancelled class for the week and they all got a chance to go back to LA. Glad to see they're in good spirits and doing well. I also took part in a Melee Doubles tournament. Sadly, I waited for almost two hours for my turn, just to end up losing in my first match. Damn Byron!!! Damn fuckers that beat us!!! Oh well... anyway the past is the past. But the coolest thing thus far that I've witnessed here was the Shocktoberfest concert that featured Lupe "Kick, Push" Fiasco. People went crazy, and I know since I was in the middle of the damn crowd as people were rushing. What sucked though was that the hype man called us UCLA and Lupe himself called us UC Riverside. What a way to end a good concert. Bastard. At least I've gained an interest in an artist known as Pigeon John. He's pretty damn good.

To sum up, Irvine has been good to me right now. Just finished my midterms and I'm feelin' fine, mentally. Physically, however, I'm lacking sleep and sick with a stubborn cough that keeps me up. I hope I get better soon. Pray for me. I'll pray for you (to my readers)!!! I think that'll do it for now, as I wanna go see what's crackin' in the halls and maybe take a nap. This is F.E. Garcia signin' off. Peace, bitches!!!
