Arbitrary Observations

There is a wrestling colunm that I read every now and then on lordsofpain.net called the Nosebleed Section, where columnist, "Random Guy #5," states his view on a number of topics in a section called "Arbitrary Observations." It's one of my favorite parts of his column, so I decided that any of my entries that has a number of topics shall be named as such. Well anyway, let the blog commence...

Raw is Jericho...again!!!
A few months ago I did a heart-felt entry called "From Beginning to End," where I gave my thoughts about everything dear to me as I neared UCI's Welcome Week. In it, I made the comment that my interest in wrestling was fading, and maybe the return of Chris Jericho may save it. It was not just some random thing to say, as I heard rumors that Y2J was returning to the 'E. And just two weeks ago, after months of "Save_Us.222" promos, Jericho returned to Raw to much of the world's delight!!! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch him on TV yet as I've been quite busy as of late, especially with finals around the corner. But it's nothing that youtube or dailymotion can't help. Right now wrestling is getting good, so I will stay tuned as best as possible.

Turkey-Day Break
My Thanksgiving break was, for the most part, pretty good. It started on the right foot with Thanksgiving itself. Nothing is better to me than being with family, having a great dinner, and enjoying the company of others. Howver, it kinda went sour the next day. I was supposed to go out with Nestor, Alex, "Rick", among others. It was supposed a good ol' reunion with the boys of Lincoln. Unfortunately, many of the guys were busy with family and Black Friday that it had to be pushed back to Winter Break. Sucks that it went down like that, but I understood the situation. So I was gonna take it as a day to just kick back and relax. However, while I was playing some classic Mega-Man X, Jennifer Lew IM'ed me to have a little get-together with some other decathletes. At first I was kinda stoked to get to see her again, as I was unable to see her on her last day in LA back in August. On the way to Dino's, which was the meeting place, I ran into her and her brother. As I did with everyone else that I ran into from Lincoln, I went in for a hug, which I did not get... not even as much as a high-five. That hurt... a lot. When we got there, I realized it was a meeting that was majorily made up of older decathletes, those that were on the team before my two years. The only one that was there from my tenure was Francis. It was quite an akward outing for me and Francis, to say the least. Although I was glad to hang out with Francis, the outing was somewhat of a bust for me, as didn't feel much of the love from Jen. Got me to thinking, but that's another topic for another time. Saturday was MUCH better, as I got together with Wendy, Alfred, Elias, Jonathan, and... Rosalia!!! Got a nice embrace from her, too. That day consisted of walking around Pasadena, watching Hitman the movie (pretty good movie), and lots of goofiness. However I had to cut the evening short as my grandpa was returning to El Salvador. Rosalia needed to depart as well, as she too had other plans. I was happy that she decided to go with me to Jack in the Box to eat, as that was our only viable option before returning home. Sucks that we missed ice-skating with the rest of the gang. Then my fam and I were off to drop off my grandpa at the airport. I know it was hard for my mom, so I was there to give her a hug. Then on sunday I packed up and returned to UCI, not coming back 'til Winter Break.

Business Time!
College is getting harder and harder. Only two weeks from finals, and the pressure is on! Sociology and cal are a total bitch!!! Not doing so hot in those classes, so I REALLY need to step it up if I want, at the most, a B. but Social Science is "gravy"; nothing to worry about. And on top of that, registration for classes is a few days away. Fortunately, my window opens on the 30th, so I got an edge over other students in getting the ideal schedule. No morning classes for me!!! I also don't want classes with huge waiting intervals. So far, I'm planning to take Writing 39B, Math 2B, and Soc Sci 3A. Still need another class though. Maybe Chicano Studies? It kinda sucks for my roommate Gessie who no longer has the luxury of a free Tuesday and Thursday, as Writing screwed him over big time. Well, as my motto goes... "Shit happens."

...Well I think that'll do it for my first edition of "Arbitrary Observations." Hope the two people that read my blog enjoyed it. Gotta make sure that the next edition has more topics and one not so huge as my thanksgiving break. Until next time, this is Fernando "Emit" Garcia signing off. Peace, bitches! =P
